Not just for families, there's something for your dog too!

Diamond Creek is not just the place for families, but also your four legged friend who will enjoy a run around the Diamond Creek Dog Park. The Dog Park is a contained off leash area with drinking facilities for your pet. Click here for a map as to the exact loation, which is approximately 150 metres from Mangrook Oval.

It is a great place for your dog to run around and at the same time meet other like minded animal lovers.   Nillumbik Shire Council also host an annual Pet Expo in September every year, even more reason to return

your visit to Diamond Creek.

ParkRun - along the Diamond Creek

Thanks to a band of dedicated and passionate community members, Diamond Creek also hosts a ParkRun .   Diamond Creek parkrun is a free, weekly 5km run, jog or walk along the Diamond Creek Trail.

It happens every Saturday morning – rain, hail or shine - starting at 8am. Diamond Creek parkrun is a timed event but is non-competitive as it’s you against the clock. Your result gives you a time to beat the

next week.

Historial sites

For those who are more interested in researching and visiting older historical societies, Diamond Creek has beautiful Ellis Cottage which is historically significant for its association with the Ellis family.

The Ellis family  were pioneers of the Diamond Creek district and the benefactors of the notable Nillumbik Cemetery gateway. It illustrates the development of farming in the area and is historically and technically significant for its rare use of uncut local stone for building purposes.

Today, Ellis Cottage houses the Nillumbik Historical Society’s collection of historic photographs and documents of pioneering families from the area.

You can find Ellis Cottage at 10 Nillumbik Square, Diamond Creek (access to car park via Memory Lane off Heidelberg-Kinglake Road) and is open on the first Sunday of the month from 2pm - 4pm, except January.
