Dr Chris Irwin
Dr. Chris is the founder of The Skin Doctor. He graduated top in his medical school, winning the first prize distinction awards in medicine and surgery. He then spent time as a resident in plastic surgery at the Royal Melbourne Hospital before gaining a Master’s degree in Skin Cancer from the University of Queensland. He has internationally published research in cancer and is an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor as well as being a Member of the Skin Cancer College of Australia. Dr Chris travels internationally many times a year to learn the latest techniques in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment from the world’s best skin cancer physicians, dermatologists and plastic surgeons. He is also trained in California (USA) as a fellow of the American College of Aesthetic Medicine and is an expert in cosmetics. Dr. Chris is one of the few skin physicians in Melbourne that routinely uses laser in the management of skin cancer.
Dr. Chris understands first hand the problems of sun-damage and pre-cancerous change, having been treated himself. He is passionate about trying to provide the world’s best care – in a setting that is relaxed and easy going.
Dr. Anne Connell
Dr. Anne is a Fellow of the RACGP and an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor (Skin Cancer College Australasia). She holds a Masters degree in Skin Cancer and is a Senior Lecturer on the UQ Masters of Medicine (Skin Cancer) program. She has completed specific training in skin cancer surgery and holds ACCO Certification in Skin Cancer Surgery. She is passionate about identifying skin cancer at an early stage, when simple surgical removal can be expected to effect a complete cure. ‘The best possible clinical care in the setting of excellent customer service’ is her professional mantra. To that end, she works closely in-house with Dr. Moz, working collaboratively so as to achieve the best outcomes especially in relation to the more complex surgical cases, and has cultivated close relationships with the external professionals key to her patients’ outcomes – pathologists, plastic surgeons and dermatologists. She keeps her skills and knowledge up to date by regular attendance at skin cancer workshops and conferences, both domestic and international.
Dr. Mostafa Khalafalla
Dr. Moz is an Australian Trained GP accredited with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners as a Specialist GP as well as being an accredited Skin Cancer Doctor with the Skin Cancer College of Australia. He has also completed a Masters in Skin Cancer Medicine which is the highest tertiary qualification available to Australian Medical Professionals. He prides himself on his collaborative approach and is always keen to discuss all possible options for managing his patients. He has always had a love for procedural medicine and has enjoyed advancing his surgical skills through a variety of Australian and International Courses to ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved for the residents of Daimo!
Dr. Moz understands that the provision of excellent care requires a great team and so frequently collaborates with an excellent team that includes plastic surgeons, dermatologists, specialist skin cancer pathologists and in house often with the other Accredited Skin Cancer Doctors whilst providing support and advice for many of the other General Practitioners both at the Local Doctor and surrounding practices.
