Diamond Creek Captured is an annual community photography celebration that brings our local trading precinct to life. It bridges the gap between local creatives and our unique shopfronts.
Throughout July, we invite local photographers of all skill levels—from smartphone snappers to professional hobbyists—to step inside our local retail spaces, cafes, and businesses to capture Diamond Creek’s winter story. In August, the top 25 finalist images are printed and transformed into a walking street gallery displayed right in our traders’ front windows for the public to admire, explore, and vote on.
To ensure we capture the authentic heartbeat of our business precinct, we aren’t just looking for landscapes of the outside of buildings. We want you to step through the doors and find the magic inside our local businesses.
To help inspire your lens, your entries must focus on one of our 6 Creative Business Prompts:
Cozy morning coffee spreads, perfectly plated winter lunches, or steaming mugs at your favourite local cafe or restaurant.
The inviting glow of shop lighting, warm winter window displays, and cozy, textured boutique interiors.
Humanising our precinct. Capture a natural portrait of the friendly, hardworking traders who greet you across the counter.
Dive deep into our retail shops. Look for unique corners, intricately styled shelves, or unexpected local treasures.
Sharp, creative close-ups of beautiful retail products, boutique fashion displays, or locally crafted giftware.
Action shots of local skills at work—a barista pouring latte art, a florist arranging fresh winter blooms, or a chef prepping in the kitchen.

From August 1 to August 25, Diamond Creek transforms into an open-air art gallery! Each finalist’s photograph will be printed, framed, and displayed on a custom plaque in a different local business window along the shopping strip.
