Accessibility
Community Bank Stadium is well equipped to cater for people of all abilities including; Ramp access to the centre, Accessible car spaces and Green Energy
The Community Bank Stadium is now fitted with 100kW of rooftop solar panels along with 100kWh of battery storage and Nillumbik’s first electric vehicle charging station for public use. The innovative ‘hybrid’ system is understood to be a Victorian first for a building of this scale and function.
The system is expected to last for up to 30 years and will generate 128,000 kWh (128 MWh) of renewable electricity . This will save about 136T of CO² emissions per year and avoid 75% of grid sourced electricity and the associated pollution and financial costs. Works done at the same time to improve energy efficiency should further improve on these benefits.
The public monitor display in the foyer shows ‘live’ updates about the system, where the energy is going and demonstrating what a renewable energy system is capable of.
Partnership
Community Bank Stadium is owned by Nillumbik Shire and managed by YMCA Victoria. As a YMCA community centre, we understand the needs of our members and visitors. We work with a number of community, sports and government bodies to offer opportunities for all our participants. YMCA is the leader in community and recreation facility management. We aim to provide the best in community care and services.
YMCA Open Doors – financial assistance
YMCA Victoria helps local people in need become healthier, happier and more connected to their community. We focus on positive change and believe that everybody has a right to equal access to physical, mental and social well-being.
While hundreds of thousands of Victorians access YMCA programs or services on a weekly basis, we are concerned about the vast number who cannot due to their social and economic situations. By supporting the Y through donating, volunteering or fundraising, you are helping to provide access to opportunities for all people to grow in body, mind and spirit.
